Diaphan Studio was founded in 2019 by Alessandro Giacomelli and Dominique Wolniewicz, a gemologist and a lighting designer united by a shared fascination with how light behaves as it moves through, or reflects off, the materials it meets. For Diaphan, the true design is the pattern of light a piece creates — the object itself is its instrument. Yet each piece is conceived as a sculpture in its own right: by day it continues to engage with natural light, its form and materiality alone shaping the space around it. This duality runs through every collection.
